Event Summary | This course is an excellent introduction for teachers who have recently taken on the role of English Subject Leader. Different aspects of the role will be explored. | ||||||
Event description | During this course we will explore the key elements required in order to be an effective English Subject Leader. This will include: • Being an English subject leader - what does it involve? • Knowing the elements of the English curriculum and how they are taught in your school e.g. phonics, spelling, speaking and listening • Identifying strengths and weaknesses • Writing a development plan • Your monitoring role o Lesson observations o Work scrutiny o Gathering and analysing data • Supporting colleagues • Managing resources Delegates will be provided with a range of practical ideas to support them in carrying out their role effectively. |
